What a busy exciting start to our new school year. It has been wonderful to welcome our new families to Duchal and to get to know your children, see them grow in confidence, explore their new surroundings, forge new friendships and take so many steps towards growing independence. We are sure you have noticed it at home too.
It has been a very busy few months, we have embraced our outdoor learning with our weekly adventures to the “deep dark woods” in the park, football sessions with Morton in the Community and a fabulous introduction to rugby with a visit from members Birkmyre Rugby.
Thank You
A huge thank you to our parents who donated from our Amazon Wish List. This was a great initiative by the Chair of our Parent Group, Pamela. Through this we have been add some fabulous resources to our nursery. These are beautiful and exactly the sort of thing the Inspectorate want us to be using. We have instilled in the children on how important it is to look after these so they can be used for years to come. We feel very lucky to have been given such a generous contribution so thank you again.
Get Involved…..
Our Forest Fridays and our new upcoming gardening club are fantastic ways to engage the children. It’s such a great opportunity for parents and grandparents to get involved, share their skills, and help nurture a love for nature and the outdoors in the kids. The hands-on experience will be a memorable one for everyone involved. Please join us if you can after the October break on Wednesdays mornings.

We are delighted that Grayson’s Mum Pamela, is heading up our parent committee, if you would like to get involved please get in touch with her. They will organising parent socials, promoting the nursery to new families and fundraising activities.

RagBag Collection
Time for a de-clutter and clear out before Christmas! Bag up unwanted items for collection with all proceeds going to buy new resources and treats for the nursery.
Garden Tidy Up Session
We are very lucky to have such a wonderful outdoor space for the children to enjoy all year round, to ensure that it stays nice to use, every so often it needs a bit of a tidy up!
Please come and join us for a day of sweeping and clearing the garden - a fun day for parents to get together for the benefit of all the children!
Christmas Nativity
Join us at the Kilmacolm Guide Hut for some festive cheer
Early Bird Drop Offs and Wraparound Care
With the mad rush in the run up to Christmas why not let Duchal take the strain. Book your child in for additional hours to give you that extra bit of time to “get life In order”, get ahead with shopping, or just to sit back and relax with friends.

Just a few reminders
Attendance: If your child is not going to be in nursery please phone the Nursery direct on 01505 874358 or email nursery@duchal.com to keep us informed.
Sickness: If your child is unwell they should stay at home as this will help their recovery and limit the spread of infection to other children and staff within the nursery.
Learning Journals - Please log on to your child’s Learning Journals regularly, they are a fantastic tool to keep track of their progress. If you have any issues with gaining access please email nursery@duchal.com
